Rochester, MN USA and Adelaide, SA Australia - May 15, 2006 - Coglin Mill (Australia) Pty Ltd today announced major changes to its RODIN software license fees and business practices.
Customers of Coglin Mill’s RODIN Data Asset Management software now have more options than ever before for flexible licensing and fees to meet the ever increasing processor performance of IBM’s System i and iSeries midrange systems.
The trend of consolidating workloads on fewer, larger machines continues as organizations find it easier to manage and as a way to lower in ongoing IT costs. The following are the major components of the announcement:
- An average price / performance improvement of approximately 55% for the CPW-based “Perpetual License Fee” option.
- The introduction of a new “Subscription License” that provides a very attractive low-cost option for customers who have not allocated capital budget for a significant upgrade without the heavy “penalty” normally associated with such licenses.
- Special promotional discounts have been put in place to enable all existing customers to upgrade or convert their licenses to either of the new pricing options and take advantage of the significant price and performance improvements.
- Due to increased demand for development, system testing and disaster recovery licenses, we’ve introduced a new term, “Support Licenses”, in which to categorize those licenses. We’ve also reduced Support License fees by a further 25% of the already significantly reduced licensed fees. Each Support License, required for each separate machine associated with a Production License, is now 20%, rather than 25% previously, of the Production License Fee for Perpetual Licenses or 10% per annum of the Annual License Fee for Subscription Licenses.
- A new “Premium Support” offering enables customers to receive 24x7 priority telephone support.
