V3R2000 Announced
The new version of RODIN, known as Version 3 Release 2000 (or V3R2000 for short), is already in beta and expected to be available for general release in September, 2000.

This new release of RODIN represents a major step forward in functionality. It also represents the completion of the initial rewrite (in Java) of the client code to provide improved ease of use characteristics. These ease of use characteristics include the graphical representations of the data models and ETL logic, cut, copy and paste, and drag and drop functionality i.e. when adding a new table to an existing extract or when adding data elements to a data set.

Coglin Mill commenced a complete rewrite of the client in Java, using IBM's Visual Age for Java, in August 1998. The first of this new client code was delivered in RODIN V3R1 available in June 1999 and proved to be very stable even though it was all brand new code. The development of V3R2000 has also gone very smoothly and the benefits of true Object Oriented design and programming have been very evident.

We think our customers will be delighted with the scope and quality of the new functionality and ease of use delivered in this release.

Full details of the new release are available in the V3R2000 Enhancements document on the product info page.
